A murder investigation has been launched after a shopkeeper was stabbed to death in Rotherham.
Emergency services were called to the Grosvenor Road area at around 2pm and found one man dead and a second man seriously injured, South Yorkshire Police said.
The incident follows sightings of a man brandishing a machete in Eastwood and Rotherham town centre.
A 27-year-old man has been arrested on suspicion of murder and is currently in police custody.
South Yorkshire Police said: "The investigation is at an early stage and enquiries are ongoing to establish the full circumstances surrounding the incident.
"There is a large police presence is in the area and this will remain in place to reassure residents."
The injured man has been taken to hospital where he is undergoing treatment.
